GHELUVELT PARK 2025

Earlier in 2025 a Serbian spruce (Picea Omorika), which has the look of a Christmas tree, was planted adjacent to the War Memorial in Gheluvelt Park. From this came the idea of illuminating the tree at Christmas to recognise past and current service in the forces.

For a name to be recognised and included on the Roll of Recognition a minimum donation of £5.00 was required.

The tree was illuminated in the run up to Christmas and though to 6th January 2026. The Roll of Recognition is published online (here) and will stay here until next year’s campaign. The names were also on display in the windows of the Sons of Rest Pavilion in the Park.

This project is managed by the Rotary Club of Worcester

Note: The Roll of Recognition is in the order of donation and does NOT include rank.

The 2025 campaign raised £725.00 which has been donated to Stepway – a local organisation that supports veterans. For more about stepway click here
